Analyzing anchor standards can be challenging, but it does not have to be! Below you will find completed organizers that will walk you through the video for unpacking the anchor standards reading literature 7. When you click on the link you will be forced to make a copy to your Google Drive, there you will be able to edit the information as you see fit. To gain a copy of the blank unpacking standards, you will use the orange link. This document is also editable and will print free of text before editing.

Explain how specific aspects of a text's illustrations contribute to what is conveyed by the words in a story (e.g., create mood, emphasize aspects of a character or setting).

Analyze how visual and multimedia elements contribute to the meaning, tone, or beauty of a text (e.g., graphic novel, multimedia presentation of fiction, folktale, myth, poem).

FOURTH GRADE

Make connections between the text of a story or drama and a visual or oral presentation of the text, identifying where each version reflects specific descriptions and directions in the text.

SIXTH GRADE

Compare and contrast the experience of reading a story, drama, or poem to listening to or viewing an audio, video, or live version of the text, including contrasting what they "see" and "hear" when reading the text to what they perceive when they listen or watch.
