This mini writing unit is intended to go along with the book, The Best Part of Me. Read the story with your students.
I did this at the beginning of the year to build on character building and building a community. After reading the story model how you use the graphic organizer to think through the writing process first. I have provided two types depending on how in depth you want to go with your writing. Take picture and print out at a photo shop or drop onto a PowerPoint slide and print in black and write. You can have students write on the blank space. It truly depends on the style you prefer. Use the letters (print on color paper or cardstock) to make a hallway display!
